BlockSplit: Welcome to the World of Web3

BlockSplit is an international conference for blockchain business and development, hosted by UBIK – Croatian Association for Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies. They bring together blockchain startups, developers, researchers, investors, marketers, designers, and more.

This year BlockSplit began with a day filled with all-around workshops. Hosted at PICS, these sessions were facilitated by some of the top web3 professionals from across the globe. Attendees were introduced to a spectrum of topics, from “Intro to Web3 Design” to “Legal Challenges in Blockchain Space.” And, as the evening approached, the NEAR Balkans Hub’s NEARby meetup became the place to be. It provided a fantastic opportunity for networking and unwinding after a day rich in learning.

Day #2 kicked off by Antonio Perić-Mažar & Vlaho Hrdalo and was filled in with insightful panels and discussions. Topics ranged from the dynamics of the DeFi markets to the utilization of NFTs and the metaverse in branding efforts. Sponsor booths added to the mix, offering a chance to engage directly with innovators and snag some cool freebies.

A surprise show by Fifi Rong highlighted the evening, underscoring Web3’s transformative potential. The day concluded with a VIP dinner and a vibrant house party courtesy of Shard Labs!

Despite the revelry the night before, the next day was another content-rich day. Discussions delved into the nuances of Solidity, the latest in DeFi, and privacy concerns in blockchain. The conference wrapped up with a lively dance courtesy of the Freak Show Electronic, marking a celebratory end to the formal events.

The grand finale was a web3 hackathon hosted by Encode! This was not just a coding session but a chance to forge lasting connections, dive deeper into the blockchain, and revel in the beautiful Croatian coastline. Prizes were won, but the real reward was the rich experience shared by all.
